2-DODECEN-1-YLSUCCINIC ANHYDRIDE is a product synthesized by the reaction of maleic anhydride with various different olefins.
It includes: linear dodecenyl succinic anhydride and branched dodecenyl succinic anhydride.
Epoxy Curing Agent: Dodecenyl Succinic Anhydride/Tetrapropenyl Succinic Anhydride (K12) is used as an epoxy curing agent, enhancing the waterproofing and toughness of epoxy resins. High-purity dodecenyl succinic anhydride is widely used in sealing and encapsulating electronic components.
As a crosslinking epoxy curing agent, it improves bonding strength, adds flexibility, enhances resistance, and extends sealing longevity compared to other materials.
Corrosion Inhibitor: Alkenyl succinic anhydride and its hydrolyzed form, alkenyl succinic acid (and their derivatives), are commonly used as corrosion inhibitors in water and hydrocarbon media. When K12 is added to gasoline and diesel, it hydrolyzes, absorbing moisture, and the resulting acid serves as a corrosion inhibitor.
Lubricant Additive: Adding a small amount of dodecenyl succinic anhydride to mineral lubricating oils helps prevent pitting and green scale formation on lead-bronze bearings. Additionally, it improves oil lubricity, raises breakdown temperature, and reduces friction coefficients.
