Polyaspartic resin LR-1420 is a solvent-free, bis-secondary amine structure compound, a low-viscosity resin capable of reacting with -NCO groups.
Low Viscosity & High Performance: Enables formulation of 100% solid content, low-VOC coatings. Offers excellent adhesion, resistance to peeling, and low-temperature flexibility, remaining crack-free at temperatures as low as -35°C.
Fast Reactivity & Formulation Flexibility: Reacts rapidly with HDI trimers, achieving touch-dry in 15 minutes. LR-1420 can be used alone or blended with hydroxyl acrylic resins, LR-1520, or LR-1220 before cross-linking with aliphatic isocyanates, allowing precise adjustment of pot life and dry times.
Exceptional Finish: Delivers excellent film build, leveling, and high gloss.
Superior Weatherability: Provides outstanding resistance to weathering, aging, and UV exposure, ensuring long-term outdoor durability without chalking or degradation. Retains over 95% of its properties after 4000 hours of QUV-A testing.
High Hardness & Abrasion Resistance: Achieves a pencil hardness of up to 2H and exhibits exceptional wear resistance (Taber Abrasion ≤ 20 mg, 500 cycles/750g load).
Versatile Application: Compatible with plural-component spray equipment, brush, roller, or trowel application methods.
Tailored Mechanical Properties: Can be formulated with flexible curing agents to create elastic materials (400% elongation, 25 MPa tensile strength) or with rigid hardeners (e.g., HDI trimers/dimers) to produce rigid, crack-resistant films (2H hardness) that withstand stress from substrate thermal expansion/contraction.
